2026 Municipal Election Candidate Questionnaire Responses

October 12, 2026

The Northumberland Labour Council has developed a municipal candidate questionnaire to educate and inform voters about where candidates stand on issues important to workers, families, and our communities.

The questions addressed topics such as public services, workers’ rights, a living wage, housing and homelessness, municipal finances and investments, community safety, climate action, reconciliation with Indigenous communities, and transparency.

Candidates were given the opportunity to explain their positions. The responses below are presented exactly as submitted and are intended to help voters make informed decisions about the candidates seeking to represent their communities.

**Notes: **

–  Candidate responses are published as submitted to the Northumberland Labour Council. The NLC has not edited or altered these responses. Candidates were informed of this. Some candidates have chosen not to respond to our request.

–  Hamilton Township did not provide candidate information in time to answer the questionnaire. Trent Hills failed to provide candidate information.
