Equal Pay Day 2026
This day serves as a symbolic reminder of how far into the year women must work to earn the same amount that men earned in the previous year. In 2026, this date falls on March 26, which is one day later than in 2025. This shift highlights the ongoing gender pay gap, where women working full-time year-round earn approximately 68 cents for every dollar earned by men.
In Ontario, the pay gap is experienced differently by various groups of women
On average, women in Ontario face a 32% pay gap. However, for women who are immigrants, Indigenous, racialized, or have disabilities, the gap is significantly larger.
Meet the Coalition
Since 1976, the non-partisan Equal Pay Coalition has been the primary advocate for women’s pay equity in Ontario. This coalition includes over 40 women’s groups, trade unions, community organizations, and business entities, collectively representing hundreds of thousands of women and gender-diverse individuals throughout the province.
